Starting Music for Mar. 28th, 2022

Aloha world! I hope you are well and enjoying this Children's Picture Book/Eat an Eskimo Pie/Weed Appreciation Day. It is also Triglycerides Day/National Black Forest Cake/(Eat) Something On A Stick Day! Here in the Hall of Fame city located in NE Ohio (USA), it is Monday, Mar. 28th –the 87th day of the year. We are starting with partly cloudy skies. Following are the weather stats, astronomy highlights, music suggestions, and more. Also, Happy Birthday to my cousin (actually my cousin’s daughter) –rock on! \m/

Forecast temps for Saturday were 31 and 41; for yesterday they were 25 and 31.

ASTRONOMY

Legend: asterism = like a constellation, but smaller; binary system = solar system w/2 stars; elongation = furthest point in orbit form Earth’s PoV); occult = in front of; terminator = line between light and dark

Solar Cycle 25 auroras alert: Sunspot AR2974 explosion produced an M1 class solar flare and hurled a CME towards Earth that is due to hit the upper atmosphere today. Meanwhile, sunspot complex AR2975/AR2976 is quite active (details at spaceweather.com).

ONLINE SECURITY

I opt out of all unnecessary cookies, don’t do those ‘what kind of animal are you?’-type surveys, don’t ‘like’ posts my friends/family share if I can’t find/don’t trust the source, and avoid most of the ‘big media’ sites. Nonetheless, I still have to remove ‘big tech’ trackers every morning:

–and this is just my PC; it does not include my mobile devices!

THOUGHTS

Does anyone actually ever click on a website popup on purpose?

What’s up with the Texas Rangers baseball team putting up NFL football-like scores? They hung 25 on the Guard (Cleveland Guardians) back on the 21st (and kudos to the Guard for responding with 12 to help make it look like a football game score), hung 14 on the Chi-Sox two days later, and followed it up with touchdown and 2-point conversion on the KC Royals the day after that. Yesterday was a 13-0 walloping of the Diamondbacks. It will be interesting to see if the offensive fireworks continue in the regular season when things actually count.

Despite all the crazy upsets during the season and most of the tournament, we’re looking at an all blue-blood Final Four with Duke, North Carolina, Kansas, and Villanova. The underdog fan in me will be pulling for Villanova since they’re not quite as entrenched into NCAA Men’s hoops royalty as the others, but the old man historian in me will be pulling for Duke and Coach K to go out as a winner.

Baker Mayfield is still waiting on a taker. I feel for the guy, because it seems like he really poured his heart and soul into playing for CLE. Unfortunately, at this point, he’s probably going to have to accept becoming a backup. Loyalty gets you nowhere in professional sports unless you’re production on the field consistently matches it.

I read that a 5th grade class in Indiana started a “When Life Gives You Lemons, Call a 5th Grader,” hotline for cheering people up. Kids like that give me hope for this crazy world.

And in a little-too-on-the-nose news (whew, say that 5 times fast!) A Florida man, err.. duck.. hatched her eggs in the courtyard of her local hospital’s labor and delivery center.

It seems like the more we treat our wild cousins with respect, the more we find out just how smart they are. In some cases, at least. The groundhog under my porch still hasn’t taken the hint that the cats and I would prefer he find some other place to dig, cause damage, and be a general nuisance. And it’s not like our hints have been subtle!

TODAY’S ELECTRONIC TRACK(S)

Please listen through a decent set of headphones or a good set of speakers before you judge the tracks. Trying to play electronic tunes on a mobile device or mono-style speaker will likely result in a disappointing listening experience. You will also essentially be telling the artist that you don’t care about all the time they put into getting each and every note just right. Hear the difference for yourself by playing them on a mobile device without external speakers or headphones hooked-up, and then listen to them again with headphones. You might be surprised at the difference. Enjoy the track(s):

“Time Echoes” by yours truly, a. k. a. JiMiG2pt0. This is slightly better than the previous track I shared (“It’s Complicated” –Starting Music for St. Patty’s Day 2022), but still not up to my current standards. Nonetheless, it has a decent amount of plays and some fans out there, including at least one person who called it “a great track” (and I didn’t even pay him!)

Expand your musical boundaries and give the track(s) a listen.

Moving onward..

FINANCIALS

Everything that I’m watching saw mostly positive results at the close of Friday’s markets. (markets were not open yet at the time things were checked this morning). (NOTE: “overall” below refers to: since I’ve been tracking daily; mid-March for TKR; mid-February for VMEO, and mid-January for the rest).

TKR – temporary replacement for MTCH

The Minds coins cryptocurrency (based on Ethereum) was up slightly this morning, approximately +$0.04 to ~$1.78/coin; -$1.09 coin overall

Check out Stockpile for traditional shares because you can order by a dollar amount instead of whole shares and build from there.

THE WRAP/MUSICAL START

Well, that’s a wrap. I’ll be starting the day off with the next song in my Spotify playlist (Randomly Cool Big List No.1), “Last Night On Earth –Nigel Stanford Remix” with original song credits going to Celldweller. One of the very cool things about many electronic tracks is that artists will often collaborate and allow one another to remix their songs. I thoroughly enjoyed Celldweller’s original mix, but find Nigel’s take just a bit more enticing. This is not your typical Celldweller heavy hitter, it’s a laid-back track that makes for some great ambience while you work, read, do chores, or cruise down the road.

Here’s the link to Celldweller’s original mix: https://youtu.be/ve6nTocdbKU

Remember, Fear is the Mind-Killer, Don’t Panic, Keep Your Head Right with Ball, and May God be gracious to you and bless you and make His face shine upon you.
