Those of you with clear, dark skies will be able to see the open cluster M44 in Cancer approximately one hour after sunset –no telescope/binoculars required. However, using binoculars or a telescope will reveal much more detail and individual stars, which are other galaxies, much like our own Milky Way. M44 is also known as the Beehive Cluster and Praesepe the Manger. It has been known since ancient times due to its naked-eye visibility. It is ~580 light-years away, so when you look at it, you are seeing it as it was 580 years ago!

Over in the Olympics, Team USA finished in the 5th position for the Winter Olympics medals count with 8 Gold, 10 Silver, and 7 Bronze (25 total). The Top 4 were (in order): Norway, the cheating committee that probably doesn’t need to cheat because their athletes are very talented, Germany, and Canada.

Everything that I’m watching -except T (AT&T) and everything in my itty-bitty (but growing!) portfolio was down at the close of Friday’s markets (“overall” refers to: since I’ve been tracking daily; mid-January for MTCH and T; mid-February for VMEO).

MTCH -$4.32/share; -$8.28/share overall

VMEO -$0.07/share; -$0.32/share overall

T (AT&T) +$0.11/share; -$1.34/share overall

The Minds coins cryptocurrency (based on Ethereum) was down this morning approximately -$0.02 to $1.88/coin; -$1.00/coin overall.

Check out Stockpile for traditional shares because you can order by a dollar amount instead of whole shares and build from there.

Well, that’s a wrap. I’ll be starting the day off with the next song in my playlist –“Jungle Love” by the Steve Miller Band from the album, “Book of Dreams” (1977). The song was written by the bass player Lonnie Turner and sideman Greg Douglass who played with the Greg Kihn Band for a spell. They originally wrote it for Dave Mason of Traffic, but Steve liked it, and the band recorded it in 30 minutes on the last day of recording for the album. This song always takes me back to my trip to Hawaii with the opening verse, “I met you on somebody’s island, You thought you had known me before, I brought you a crate of papaya, They waited all night by your door, You probably wouldn’t remember, I probably couldn’t forget..”

Remember, Fear is the Mind-Killer, Don’t Panic, Keep Your Head Right with Ball, and May God be gracious to you and bless you and make His face shine upon you.
